Day 01: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Paititi Lodge.

Leaving Cusco very early in the morning in our comfortable bus. Ascending to the high mountain of Paucartambo. On the way we visit the funerary towers or chullpas of Ninamarca. The buses then descend through the mysterious misty forest full of beautiful orchids, heliconiums and primitive ferns. Stop to give you a chance to witness Cock of the Rock (Rupicola peruviana) mating ritual. There is also the possibility of observing the Amazon umbrella bird (Cephalopteros ornatus), trogons (Trogon sp.) and many more. Hopefully the only bear from South America, the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus). In the afternoon we arrive at the town of Pilcopata, where we will stay in a typical hostel. Showers and toilets available.

Day 02: Paititi Lodge – Boca Manu.

After an early but delicious breakfast, the bus transfers the group to the port of Atalaya. The rest of the day is dedicated to traveling on the Upper Madre de Dios River. Along the way you can see a wide variety of birds, such as herons, egrets, kingfishers, and the ever-present vultures of which the most spectacular is the jungle condor, king vulture (Sarcoramphus papa). In the afternoon, a brief stop in the town of Boca Manu to have a refreshing cold drink. Later, the group arrives at the country house near Boca Manu. Walks explore some of the many trails in the area. Night at the Lodge. Showers and toilets available.

Day 03: Boca Manu – Lake Otorongo.

The boat trip continues and you will be able to understand why Manu is so famous for its fauna. On the edges of the river you can see groups of turtles, white caimans (Caiman cocodrylus), capybaras (Hydrochaeris) and perhaps a jaguar (Panthera Onca) resting on a log and observing their territory. Arrival in the afternoon at our camp in Otorongo. Let’s camp the only organism that exists. Later visit the trails around the Otorongo Oxbow lake and the giant otter observation tower together with the guide to learn the functions and secrets of the rainforest. Day 04: Otorongo Lake – Salvador Lake.

Today the group will visit another cocha called Salvador, which is half an hour boat trip from Otorongo. Here silently paddling a catamaran, you have again the chance to observe a family of giant otters for fishing and game, the black lizard and many different life of rare birds such as the Shansho (Opisthocomus hoatzin). Here in Manu the animals have never suffered the pressure of man’s hunting. In the afternoon we return to our camp in Otorongo. . SAFARI CAMPING (in bed and mosquito net). Showers and toilets available.

Day 05: Lake Otorongo – Boca Manu.

The call of the red howler monkeys (Alouatta seniculus) wakes us up. After a delicious breakfast unfortunately needs to start our return. The Manu River, the group could see many different animals, which they did not find on the way. In the afternoon, the group arrives at Boca Manu Lodge.. Lodge with showers and WC.

Day 06: Boca Manu – Paititi Lodge.

In the morning we continue along the river by boat through the Alto Madre de Dios in the way that we will see other species of birds. In the afternoon we will arrive at our PAITITI hostel. Night in lodge with shower and bathrooms available. (NOTE. Please, today is a good day to read.)

Day 07: Paititi Lodge – Cusco

In the morning after breakfast, unfortunately, we return by boat to Atalaya, where the bus awaits us to return to Cusco, visiting the cloud forest again. arrival in the afternoon

And if you enjoy the nightlife, around the square, you’ll find many discos and bars filled with tourists and locals looking to have fun.
