The trip begins with a morning pickup at your hotel in a private bus that begin traveling to the Manu National Park. Our first stop is 25 km from Cusco at “Huacarpay” lake from an observation tower where it is possible to see many birds around the lake. In the meantime, breakfast is taught outside to enjoy the natural environment. During the tour of the small road, you can enjoy the impressive landscape of the Andes, crossing the Huachuqasa pass (4100 m / 13,451 ft), and passing the small communities. Leaving the colonial town of Paucartambo behind, we reach the Acjanaco pass (3,550 m / 11,647 ft), the entrance of the Manu National Park, where we will begin the descent into the beautiful Manu Cloud Forest, on the way we can see endemic flora and fauna, such as butterflies, giant ferns and orchids, monkeys, birds such as toucans, tanagers, etc. The cloud forest is home to the national bird of Peru, which is “the Cock of the Rocks” (Rupicola peruviana, we visited its lek) and Spectacled Bear (Tremarctus ornatus) The bear is only found in South America. We continue our journey to Guadalupe Reserva.
At sunrise each animal sings in its own unique voice as a natural wake-up call, and a moderate walk provides a good opportunity to see the flora and fauna in the reserve, as well as numerous tropical birds.
With an early morning departure after breakfast, the bus will take us to the port of Atalaya, where you take the motor boat and decks, starting the boat trip on the picturesque Alto Madre de Dios river, we can see some water birds, after 4 hours we arrive at “Shipeteari”, which is a native community. so this afternoon you can schedule a night walk, with great expectations of finding nearby wildlife such as wild boars and monkeys.
After the boat goes to the Manu River head the adventure inside the heart of the Manu National Park, under the sun with an average temperature of 30°Celsius. In short, you simply discover everything you dreamed of in nature from the boat.
This tour also gives you the opportunity to observe the fauna and flora of the Manu National Park. As long as the boat goes upstream, it focuses watching the river banks where some animals can be seen, the black lizard, capybaras, jaguars and maybe different types of birds.
A journey into the deepest of the jungle of Manu National Park, ranked among the world’s top biodiversity hotspots. This area is an open reserve of biodiversity considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You get to present the natives in the afternoon.

Today the group will visit another cocha called Salvador, which is half an hour boat trip from Otorongo. Here, paddling silently on a catamaran, you again have the chance to observe a family of giant otters for fishing and game, the black lizard and a variety of rare birds such as the Shansho (Opisthcomuns hoatzing). Here in Manu the animals have never suffered the pressure of man’s hunting. In the afternoon we return to our camp in the Otorongo Cocha on the deck platforms. Showers and toilets available.
After breakfast we will board the boat once more for the return trip to the Guadalupe Reserve, this time sailing against the current of the Alto Madre de Dios River.
with a stop at the restoration of medicinal hot springs, having the opportunity to enjoy seeing some of the species. Then we continue to Guadalupe de la Reserva and the few hours by guided boat to Rio.
Just sit back, relax and take pictures of the beautiful scenery while you travel, arriving in the late afternoon at Guadalupe Reserve. If we are lucky, we may catch the twinkle in the eye of regular sized and amphibious alligators during our night walk around our reserve.
Day 06: Guadalupe-Natural Reserve of the Community-Cusco
The last day you can visit a native community “Huacaria” (Matsiguenka and Huachipaeri ethnic group) in our private bus or by bicycle. We can spend time there and bear witness to how they live today and before noon we ahead to Cusco in the cloud forest, arriving in Cusco at night.

After the tour, you can take a stroll around the Plaza de Armas and its surroundings, where you can appreciate the work of Cusco artisans in the craft shops. You can also savor the famous and unique Peruvian cuisine in nearby restaurants or simply take a break on one of the benches in the Plaza de Armas, enjoying the scenery and taking the classic photo for a warm memory despite the cold Cusco nights. And if you enjoy the nightlife, around the square, you’ll find many discos and bars filled with tourists and locals looking to have fun.
